Bleurgh!

I made cream puffs today... I may be sick.

The recipe makes 24.  I've eaten 6 and will be happy if the next time I look in the fridge there are no more cream puffs.  Normally this might happen as dad snacks.  However, I'm home alone so unless the cats manage to break into the fridge and develop a fondness for pastry overnight I am going to be disappointed.  They're not even all that great as the chocolate I put on top is too heavy for me and the cream lost a lot of it's oomph. At least the pastry was ok, for a first attempt anyway! (I'm a perfectionist so I will be working on these a fair bit I think!)

eat them I've got a bit fed up.  The problem is I love the act of cooking and I love people eating my food but I'm not so into eating it myself.  There's no emotional perk to eating your own cake on your own.  I like the praise I get from other people, it makes me feel good and what's wrong with that?  *sigh* anyone want a cake? I'll bake to order!

Deer go "Mew"

That is today's exciting discovery.  The stags go "Hwaah" well, "Roar" but in a more herbivorous way, but the does appear to go "mew".  I went to the deer park at Studley today and made this discovery while driving through the park with the window down so I could take photos.  I had to stop the car for 5 pheasants and 2 herds of deer.

Frodo and I went to see Gran today but she was out.  But my Spicy Butternut Squash Soup is now approved of by 100% of my grandmothers.  I have keys to her house so I let myself in and left homemade soup, bread rolls and blueberry muffins on the kitchen counter like a food fairy!

We were the last people into the water gardens, hell as we went in one minute before closing I think we were the only people in the gardens!  We were outnumbered about 300-2 by pheasants and squirrels.

I am feeling quite good about feeding myself so far.  Today I made a one person chicken and mushroom filo pie with the last of the filo as well as a bunch of little bento sized ones that I am trying to freeze.  We'll see how that has worked tomorrow.  I also knocked together some chocolate muffins after dinner as I was peckish and had finished the blueberry ones.

I must apologise once again for my lack of posting here these days but I have to say I'm most of my effort into Annainthekitchen.  I don't do much these days except cook and walk the dog and what I cook goes up there not here and what with shopping, prepping, cooking, photographing and eating I don't have time to do much else.  Which was why I started of course as I was borded out of my mind and had to come up with some way to fill my days.  I have, however, signed up to volunteer at The Ritz the old cinema in my town.  It shows one film a week and is run entirely by volunteers.  That'll be every other Friday starting this Friday so fingers crossed it works out.  Apart from that, well, even my gran gets out more that I do it seems!

Today I have made Chicken Liver Pate, a light box, a small triangular fabric chicken and two fabric strawberries.

Still experimenting with the lighting though (perhaps midnight wasn't the best time to try it out?!) and I've only got another 10 strawberries to make!!!  The chicken was a success also, I'd seen them before in shops and Charlie had some and they looked easy and cute so I thought I'd have a go.

I eventually want to have a basket full of fabric strawberries.  Audio books and dvds are my friends for the next week I think while I go on a sewing bender.  I've set myself a little work bench up in the guest room with all my sewing stuff strewn about.  Tis much fun.  Anyone have any other ideas for little hand sewn nicnaks?

The chicken liver pate came about coz I love the stuff (won't touch liver with a bargepole but love pate!!) and saw that a tub of chicken livers are only 44p!!!  The rest of the ingredients are all store cupboard staples for me so that's certainly value for money!!! YUM!!!

I should have gone home.

fuck
I got up bright and sparkly this morning... then I went back to sleep and got up again at 10am when the parcel delivery guy buzzed me.   But then I came into uni to try and get a place on Religion in Japan.  It's first come, first served but Judith's gone and buggered off coz she's swamped!!  So I've left all my details with the office and the second she gets back to her office we'll see if I can get on that class!! I should find out this afternoon so fingers crossed!!

This then leaves me with a problem.  It's 11:30am.  My class isn't til 1pm... do I go home and have lunch? Stay here and have lunch?  Do my stationary shopping in the union? So many decisions!!  In the end I decided to stay on campus, I used to be able to kill hours on campus... not today it would seem.  I have bought a sandwich (which involved a HUGE queue).  Gone on the internet.  Wandered round the bookshop.  Chatted with various people.  Wandered round in aimless circles.  Bought paper/pens/pencils.  Wandered round some more and I still have 15 bloody minutes to kill!!!!  So I'm in the IT room next door to my lecture room killing time, fun!!!  My lecture doesn't finish til 3pm and I'm thinking of going to yell at YSH (the landlords) later coz we still haven't got our table!!!!!  Ridiculous!!!

ETA: Just got home and found that the idiots have taken the futon and brought Charlie a new chair but they've left the old broken chair and not given us a sodding table and chairs!!!!! Idiots!!!!

Does anyone know what an RX1 is??? Other than incredibly long? Coz I am secretarying this week and mum has gone on an outside appointment so I can't figure out what the hell this form is that she wants me to fill in.  So I'm sitting here basically arsing around.  The whole day has felt like a post-lunchtime slump, it's ridiculous!!!
I had a carton of Ribena for lunch and I regressed to primary school, twirling on my chair and blowing bubbles through the straw. So much for the mature, responsible OL!!!

ETA:  It turned out that it wasn't an RX1 it was an LRRX1 and thus in a totally diferent sub category.  My boss is a nightmare!!! ;oP

Brain the size of a planet...

I am bored and tired and frustrated and something is just off.  It's like the rest of the universe has been moved an inch to the left and no one told me.  Wrong.
I don't even feel like watching Doctor Who, which must mean I've finally cracked, bring on the men in the white coats!!! I think I'm alone in the flat this evening so I'll have to cope with the scary scarecrow freaky people alone and this story line does not seem to be heading in a nice happy clappy "Everyone lives" direction but more of a stand staring into the distance and look mopey and resentful of the universe direction, which is so not what I need... I need happy damn it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I really can't be bothered with a sub par episode tonight, I want to have my dinner and go to bed and not be disappointed by anything.  I have gone back to reading my comfort fics that I have read a million times because I cannot cope with mediocrity tonight... although considering how tired I am I'm pretty much at a "fire bad, tree pretty" level, so bad fic would really be lost on me anyway atm... which reminds me, I have to finish that fic what I wrote... and find a flat... and find a job... and get a life... it's all so pointless *sigh*
Steak and new potatoes will fix it... or at least provide a distraction while I watch DW in the background while I cook... let's face it, I have to watch it.  It's blasphemy or something if I don't, heh, fandom as my religion... works with my religion is a fandom theory I guess!!!
Roll on June 16th I say, fantastic birthday present, thanks Rusty!!!

What American accent do you have?
Created by Xavier on Memegen.net

New York City. You are most definitely from New York City. Not New Jersey, not Connecticut. If you are from Jersey then you can probably get into New York City in 10 minutes or less.

Take this quiz now - it's easy!
We're going to start with "cot" and "caught." When you say those words do they sound the same or different?

I have a poshish English accent. So god knows why I did this but I am bored!! But seriously, New York??? I was answering things honestly too!!! I'm so confused!!!

So not only an I academicaly frustrated I am also bored, really bored and I'm not even horny.  Normally I'm bored and horny, which is good because it gives me something to distract myself with but right now I'm just bored.  I have ennui in the worst sense... and I cannot get anything done!!!!!!!!!!!! And I'm still not sleeping, it is starting to get beyond a joke, I sleep when I don't want to coz I'm exhausted but when I do want to I'm too on edge to sleep... WAH!!!!!!!!!!!

What better way to spend an evening than rediscovering the joy that can be had doing that thing where you blow Malteasers in to the air?  Fun fun fun.  Also sex toys are stalking me.  That is all.

In a continuation of the bored subject I got all arts and crafty yesterday and decided to try my hand at makig Tshirts... here are the finished results:

The last 2 are actually rather crappy as the card I'd used for the stencils got stuck in the paint as I let it dry for too long before removing the stencil but smudgy can be an artistic choice... right?

Oh and I nicked the stencils for Captain Jack and the logo from other people on LJ but made my own for the TARDIS.

I'm thinking of adding a torchwood logo to the white Jack that goes sort of behid him and am debating if I can add writing to the TARDIS without completely screwing it up.

Bored now...
